Welcome to UNC's ZTA Franklin 5K
Every year, the members of Zeta Tau Alpha at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill hold the Franklin 5K to raise money for breast cancer research and awareness. It is the sorority's biggest philanthropic event of the year.
This year, the race is celebrating its connection to Breast Cancer Research and Awareness by giving each race participant their own pink colored powder to launch at the starting line of the race. The race benefits The Arc of the Triangle, Ashton's Angels, the UNC Lineberger Cancer Center, and the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation.
Check out how much fun we had at Last Year's 5K
In the past, we have consistently raised over $60,000 with this race and we hope to increase that amount each consecutive year. We had over 800 people participate in the race last year and sold over 2,500 t-shirts to family and friends inside and out of the Carolina family. The course takes runners around the Chapel Hill campus and surrounding neighborhoods. Prizes are awarded to the top runners in each age group at the after-race party, which is accompanied with free food and local talent.
